Our Review

The Ritz is one of the world’s most famous and sumptuous hotels. The means that it wraps its guests in a blanket of luxury throughout their stay, but also boasts quite a formal atmosphere, with strict dress codes and vigilant security at the main entrance.

Opened in 1906, the Ritz Hotel today retains the personal feel of a French country house whilst offering all the glamour, excitement and graceful living that are synonymous with its name. Dominated by a central rotunda, the medium sized lobby is elegantly furnished and decorated in a pale colour scheme with a dark wood reception and concierge desk. Every guestroom and suite at The Ritz is exquisite and designed to provide exceptional standards of comfort. All 147 guestrooms have been individually decorated in the distinctive Ritz colour schemes of blue, peach, pink or yellow and are luxuriously appointed with silk headboards, chandeliers, 24 carat gold leaf and beautifully restored antique furniture in keeping with the hotel’s original Louis XVI style. A ratio of two staff to every guestroom guarantees the highest levels of personal service. The bedrooms are impeccably maintained, as are the en suite marble bathrooms.
The magnificent Ritz Restaurant is one of the most beautiful dining rooms in the world and leaves an indelible impression on all who dine there. Serving superb classical cuisine with contemporary influences, it features full-length murals, pink marble and chandeliers. On Friday and Saturday nights, the restaurant holds a traditional dinner dance with a four-piece band and a dance floor. Meals can also be taken during the warmer months on the private terrace, which overlooks an Italian garden.
Reborn in glorious art deco style, the Rivoli Bar is a symphony of camphor wood, satinwood, alabaster, gold leaf and Lalique glass. With an atmosphere that changes throughout the day, the Bar is a dramatic and beautiful contrast to The Ritz house style, and a genuine revelation. Alternatively, Tea at the Ritz is an institution in itself and is served in the spectacular Palm Court. A choice of several varieties of tea, finely cut sandwiches, freshly baked scones, jam, clotted cream and a range of delicate pastries, combine to create an unforgettable afternoon.
